Photography

Photography was perhaps my first technical medium that I mastered and gained tremendous pleasure. It help me explore my own mind and eye towards the world of places, people, culture, architecture, and landscape. I began in earnest in high school earning my first paid competition with a 100$ prize for this view of Paris.

All of the photographs seen here were taken with traditional 35mm film with a manual camera and self processed in the dark room.  I loved the mystery of not knowing what the final image would be until you see it appear through the liquid medium. I used to spend countless hours in the darkroom, reliving and crafting each moment captured on film. Through this process, photography was a craft of connecting deeply to places and details one might easily miss. The old photographic processes helped slow time down, allowing for deeper connections between the internal soul and the external  environment.
